Summary/Abstract: An interdisciplinary publication which is a forum of exchange of ideas on various strategies of presenting history. The authors examine the Polish-German relations throughout history as well as selected elements of the past related to the culture of Poland or Germany. They refer to the historiographical literature recalling the most important events in various periods from the perspective of the detailed studies and memories of people living in the particular period. The articles also include the theory on the ways of codifying memory, which can be regarded as a significant retrospective of the contemporary discourse on history.
