Summary/Abstract: The book is the first monograph dedicated to the history of Polish diplomatic post after 1945. It presents different aspects of functioning of Polish legation/embassy in Budapest in the first postwar period. It depicts the process in which Polish diplomacy was losing its sovereignty, being increasingly more dependent on Moscow decisions. It describes new tasks for communist diplomats: propaganda activity and control over Polish diaspora in Hungary. The monograph is not only a part of the trend in Polish historiography concerning the problem of Polish diplomacy, but the Stalinist era as well. It is dedicated to historians dealing with aforementioned questions, readers interested in the history of Polish-Hungarian relations and Hungary after 1945.
