Summary/Abstract: I look for what is concealed under the official diction, hidden under the apparent significance, for that which questions the meanings which are too readily accepted as obvious and ultimate. This way of reading, which undermines the established interpretations and makes us view our source with suspicion, reveals whatever sits on the verge of expression, unsealing the conceptual surface and declassifying meanings both obscure and convoluted – all the while without substituting another unambiguous understanding, but instead, initiating the process of reading through hypotheses and uncertainties. The mystery in a poem which I try to fathom … is situated on a moving, blurred boundary between what can still be couched in words and what eludes verbal depiction. This is why I have tried to capture various poetic ways of creating this state between expression and the inability to express.
