Summary/Abstract: The book discusses the European Union’s policy towards Asian countries. While there are many publications on the EU’s relations with China or Japan, there is a glaring gap in literature covering the contacts between the EU and other Asian partners. All this in the context of Asia’s 35-percent share in EU exports and as much as 45 percent in the case of imports, with the European Union's ties with Asian partners becoming ever closer. Security, common challenges related to climate change or development assistance are only some areas of cooperation. A comprehensive analysis of the policy towards Asian partners will help the reader understand the role of the European Union in Asia and the multidimensionality of relations with countries of the region.
