Summary/Abstract: The publication constitutes the share in discussion to the subject of the occurrence of microfinance, taking into account the specificity of Eastern and Western European countries. The aim of the publication has cognitive and applicable character. Therefore it revises and evaluates the experiences of the selected European microfinance institutions and searches the answer to the question if microfinance products, particularly microcredits, can in the permanent way contribute reducing the level of the social and financial exclusion in Europe. The publication aims at persons interested in microfinance – both researchers, experts and practitioners of these fields, and everyone, which hold on the issues of financial and social exclusion.
