Summary/Abstract: The textbook Basic course in Latin I is designed for beginners. It is divided into 24 units, each of them containing explanation of grammar rules, vocabulary, exercises, and (from unit 7 onward) a short adapted passage of Latin. The grammar explanation includes practical guidelines for translation. The exercises focus not only on practising Latin morphology, but also on understanding relations between morphological forms and the system of Latin grammar. An e-learning workbook with key is available on-line.
