Summary/Abstract: The research hypothesis adopted by the author at the beginning of the research process assumed that freedom of expression in election campaigns is legally restricted to a large extent by the constitution of the Republic of Poland while it should be granted a higher level of protection in comparison to other constitutional freedoms. At various stages of the research process diverse methods such as dogmatic, comparative, empirical and historical were used to validate the hypothesis. The main research hypothesis has largely been proven to be true. Freedom of expression in election campaigns is legally restricted to a large extent by the constitution of the Republic of Poland. The assumption put forward in the first part of the publication that freedom of expression in election campaigns is legally restricted to a large extent by the constitution of the Republic of Poland has been fully confirmed. The second part of the analysis premised on the proposition of a higher level of protection for freedom of expression in comparison to other constitutional freedoms has been substantiated only partially.
