Summary/Abstract: The article aims to identify the lexical peculiarities of the German language of fashion and to highlight a series of lexical features typical of the fashion lexicon encountered in the main German fashion magazines for women. Lexical and semantic word groups are selected from German advertisements, examining their word formation patterns, i.e., nouns and verbs. Apart from analysing the language of German fashion, the article also considers the key role of loan words and of Anglicisms in the process of enriching the German vocabulary.
