Summary/Abstract: The book contains dissertations on translating foreign works into Polish and the Polish ones into Italian and German. What constitutes translatology is the transfer of a text into new culture and the strategies used to assimilate it. They are discussed in reference to selected works from the 16th to the 20th century. The authors are Polish and foreign scholars who are both researchers and translators of Polish literature.
