Summary/Abstract: The following article presents the experiences of literary education of older preschool children (on the materials of children's poetry). The author generalizes an interesting experiment of preschool teachers on introducing children to poetry as a kind of verbal art. The work describes the sequence of methodical activities of educators: studying children's attitudes to poetry; Education of children's reading material; Educational and developmental work with the children (learning literary concepts, developing skills to analyze a poem, expanding the research material through poetic texts).
