Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the experimental curriculum of seven-year-language studies at Beijing International Studies University, BISU. The curriculum, started in 2015/2016, is financed by the government within the strategy “One Belt, One Road” and coordinated with Beijing authorities. It means that it is not only the university that decides on the number of students each year, the length of the programme, its end and – to a large extent – on the curriculum itself. The programme includes languages of Central and Eastern Europe, which are less popular.
