Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes selected examples of an eruption of the element of light in the works of Juliusz Słowacki. Already his first poem “The Moon” reveals the fascination with light. In Słowacki’s later works one can observe how often the poet depicts the rays of light flickering in crystals, precious Stones and gold. In Beniowski, adorned with “fireworks,” these images also constitute the poem’s ironic dimension. In the mystical period, in turn, the light completely embraces the whole universe.
