Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with regional education as a means of forming habits and skills toaquire the regional and cultural values, as well as to evoke the emotional involvement of studentsupon disseminating regional knowledge. The authors present the results of the project KEGA“Educational process with developmental-innovative aspect focusing on a new model of regionaleducation in relation to globalization.” The project was realized by a research team from theDepartment of Education, Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra,headed by Associate Professor Julia Ivanovicova, PhD in cooperation with kindergartens andprimary schools in the Cedron region — Nitra district, who provided the information concerningthe cultural heritage of the region. Activities were also carried out in the municipal cultural centerand, apart from pupils, there were the parents and grandparents involved in order to increase theemotional involvement into the project. The authors present the results of implemented activitiesand point out at the significance of regional education for emotional development of preschooland primary school children.
