Summary/Abstract: It is difficult to plan serving a life imprisonment sentence. It is easier and more rational to offer a prisoner concrete support such as rehabilitation programmes or interventions, which can help him overcome his own deficiencies, make up for social shortcomings and relations with people, develop personal talents and competences. The process requires building relations to convince the prisoner that the measures proposed by prison authorities – when he is fully contributing to them (on autopilot) – make sense and have a purpose, which are important to him and will take him closer to responsibility and freedom.
