Summary/Abstract: Family bond is a specific type of social ties. Depending on the type of family —traditionalor modern — we have to deal with the leadership of the family structure toits members or with the leadership of individuals (family members) to the family asa group/institution. Today, many social processes (including individualization, deinstitutionalisation,atrophy of the neighbours’ ties) enhances the release of individuals froma strong and enduring family ties, based on solidarity commitments, to seek ties takeslittle sustained, weak, based on a quest to meet the emotional needs of individualswithout permanent commitment to the other.
