Summary/Abstract: The revolt of the Czech States became the signal of the European conflict, of the Thirty Years War (1618—1648). It is to J. Polisensky that we owe a general appreciation of Czechoslovak as well as foreign literature devoted to the problems of the Thirty Years War and published until now. A vast edition of abundant documentary sources, due to V. Liva enriches our knowledge not only with regard to military events, but also about the economic repercussions caused by the war in the Czech lands. The edition informs us, with the help of short regests, of the documents deposited in the so-called "old military fund" of the Central National Archives in Prague.
