Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the place and role of Hamza Humo’s literary work in the cultural-poetic contexts of Bosniak and Bosnian-Herzegovinian literature between the two world wars. Humo’s literary work is approached from a slightly different, wider cultural perspective apart from the traditional literary history, which illuminates Humo’s literary work in a different way too. In this regard, it is apparent that, as a whole, the literary work of Hamza Humo is not exclusively related to the poetics of expressionism nor does it fully realize all the elements of expressionist poetics, not even those elements which characterize the phenomenon of expressionism in other South Slavic literatures. The primary context of Humo’s literary creation is a more specific context of avant-gardism, neoisms and poetic alliances of the interwar period in Bosniak as well as Bosnian-Herzegovinian literature in general, but there are also other important elements in Humo’s literary creation which have not been more significantly noticed in the earlier understandings of the author’s literary work. These are, first of all, very visible elements of, in Bosniak literary history, more specific poetics of post-revival traditionalism, on one hand, and on the other hand, and by no means negligible, elements that may somehow be linked to the so-called social literature.
