Summary/Abstract: Hamza Humo is a writer who wrote in the period between two wars, and the theme of his works produced a fertile ground for linguistic analysis. It is known that the Turkish Empire left its mark in almost all segments of life and after its multi-century rule, direct and indirect contacts with our region so in this paper we will analyse the novel Grozdanin kikot and the short story Džigit in order to present the degree of representation of oriental lexics, to determine their origin and classification of words of Turkish, Arabic and Persian origin. The aim of the research, therefore, is to determine the total number of orientalisms in the novel Grozdanin kikot and the short story Džigit of Hamza Humo with the determination of the percentage ratio of standard and non-standard vocabulary and determining the frequencies of oriental words and how Oriental layers, in fact, left their traces.
