Summary/Abstract: The paper will present a study of cultural policy in the context of Bulgaria‘s membership in the European Union in two aspects – funding of the arts, cultural and creative industries, cultural heritage and cultural tourism and development and transformation of the institutional framework. Public funding and alternative sources of funding, as well as policies for decentralization and regional development in the arts, cultural and creative industries, cultural heritage and cultural tourism are analyzed. A comparative European analysis examines the fund system – the basis for management and financing in EU Member States and its adaptation in Bulgaria.
