Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to fairy tales and issues related to upbringing, and in particular to the influence of fairy tales on the upbringing of girls. In her considerations, the author focuses on film adaptations of fairy tales (live-action and animated) and the gender patterns presented in them, i.e. images of women with whom the girls watching the films can identify. Included are both films evoking traditional images of gender and contemporary adaptations that promote new stereotype-breaking images of women.
