Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the situation of female protagonists depicted in the prose of contemporary Russian women authors (Olga Breininger, Kristina Gepting, Anna Nemzer and Irina Bogatyreva). It analyses the category of the new “lost generation” (“generation of the 2000s”) from the perspective of literary studies as well as the sociological aspects that influence the concept of loss with regard to the millennial generation.
