Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the quality of old translations, based on the example of Colas Breugnon by Romain Rolland, published in the Polish translation by Franciszek Pik Mirandola in 1921. The book had many Polish editions until 2012 and is still very popular, despite critical opinions concerning the translation. Our analysis shows which types of errors require improvement for the Polish readers to continue to enjoy the translation.
