Summary/Abstract: This paper introduces results of pilot research that sought to answer what subjectively perceived factors and processes of computer-assisted simulation games influence the speaking fluency of participants and how these factors do so. This work presents and interprets the results of a multi-case study of four participants during an intensive course of English as a foreign language. Moreover, possible recommendations for teaching based on the study are foreshadowed.
