Summary/Abstract: The author of the study presents the selected results of the nationwide musicalsociological research on the attitudes of university students in the Czech Republic to the Czech and world contemporary art music with a focus on the last third of the 20th century and 21st century. On the background of the research which deals with issues such as positive, neutral and negative attitude of respondents to the selected music samples in comparison with respondents’ identification ability of the listened music has also been examined the influence of the music education.
