Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on some forms of problematic internet use, mainly to those forms of behavior in virtual communication, which represent a danger for others and/or for oneself (sending or receiving messages with the intent to harm). The empirical research was devoted to relation between personality characteristics and frequency of problematic behavior in the electronic communication in adolescents and young adults. This research was part of the broader concept of the project, whose participants were students of secondary schools and universities from Ostrava region. As measurement instruments were used Hexaco scale for measuring six personality traits and Questionnaire of Risk Behavior in Cyberspace for measuring some forms of problematic internet use. The obtained results indicate a relation between variables and they are discussed in the context of current research.
