Summary/Abstract: Paper´s ambition is to present and test the method of expressing the value of the economic impact of selected railway projects on the environment on the example. Different methodological approaches are discussed of which one is selected according to legal framework in the Czech Republic. That is a prerequisite for the possibility of its real application when assessing these impacts. The aim of this paper is therefore monetization of environmental impacts of selected railway corridors (TEN-T). This result is significant information and one of the important inputs into the review process for development projects (especially in the application of cost-benefit analysis). The basic output is relatively low weight of permanent land-use change of important natural sites relatively insignificant compared to the effects on the population. Such a result is now a recognized approach; however, is essentially important fact for further discussion on how to assess precisely such societal impacts of development projects and evaluation of the entire development programs.
