Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to evaluate the aspects of the migration of the Uherské Hradiště inhabitants in the period 1991-2015. In this context, the attention is paid to the migration balance, analysed are also directions of migration, both internal and foreign. Further the analysis of possible causes and consequences of this process is outlined, including the analysis of the phenomenon of emigration potential of the city inhabitants. The methods used are the geographic analysis of available statistical data on migration and analysis of primary data that was obtained in Uherské Hradiště in the form of a questionnaire survey. The main results of the analysis are the determination of the spatial aspects of migration, particularly the negative migration balance in favour of city´s hinterland and also relatively high positive potential of emigration of the population in the context of the already carried out research on a similar topic.
