Summary/Abstract: The paper will contain information on the safety of electric cars. The standards for testing the car and its battery and the reaction to impact, cases of burning electric cars after a traffic accident are considered. Before going on sale, electric cars are tested by manufacturers and independent organizations in order to ensure a safe environment for the passenger in the event of an accident. The most important requirements for electric cars are that the battery cannot move from its factory location in the event of an impact and that parts of the battery do not go out of the car or into the passenger compartment.
