Summary/Abstract: The concept of anxiety, which is commonly associated with feelings of uneasiness, frustration, self-doubt, apprehension, or worry (Scovel, 1978, as cited in Brown, 2000), has been considered the most important affective element in foreign language classrooms. Due to its critical impact on both language learning and teaching processes, a great deal of research studies have been carried out related to the construct of anxiety to examine its role in foreign language learning as well as its causes, effects and the strategies used to cope with it (eg. Bailey & Daley, 2000; Chen & Chang, 2004; Duxbury & Tsai, 2010; Horwitz, Horwitz & Cope 1986; Lee, 2018; MacIntyre & Gardner, 1991; Onwuegbuzie, Riasati, 2011; Tuncer & Doğan, 2015; Yüce, 2018).
