Summary/Abstract: The idea of crisis has already become part of the discourse regarding modernity since the second half of the 19th Century. This idea of crisis passes trough the entire 20th century, taking on various forms. The appearance of ecovillages is usually related to the perception of climate crisis, and indeed, ecovillages can also be seen as a response experiment to the negative effects of globalization. The present study overviews the solutions proposed to this crisis by ecovillages. The question is how we should look at these: as solutions or as symptoms of the crisis?
