Summary/Abstract: The policy on combating the violence against women is one of the major issues on the European Commission agenda that has as main objectives to put under the EU law the violence against women and domestic violence crime, also cybercrime, sexual harassment and exploitation and money laundering.Our study follows to explore the evolution of European decisions on combating the violence against women revealing the regulation in force, the analysis of the main statistical data provided by the Eurostat, by the European Institute for Gender Equality, The World Health Organisation that reveal the concrete actions for formulate and implement the public policy in EU. The analysis proposes further developments as the policy can be more active and effective in EU member states taking into consideration that the regulation provided and enforced at EU level constitutes a strong support.
