Summary/Abstract: The combination of adequacy and equivalence within the financial organisation of pension insurance requires the search for a reasonable compromise balancing the desired level and amount of pensions and collected social insurance contributions (instalments). The aim of this paper is to make an attempt to assess the degree of conformity of the pensions granted for labour activity in Bulgaria in relation to the social insurance contribution of the persons receiving them.
