Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the topic of the privatization of pension insurance in Bulgaria and the other member states of the European Union from Central and Eastern Europe. Reforms are reviewed and key moments in the evolution of pension privatization over the past twenty-five years are described. Conclusions are formulated regarding the trajectories in the development of the pension policy in the context of its current state and achieved results.
