Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to highlight the contribution of Holocaust Education to students' moral education and character cultivation by teaching character virtue. The educational philosophy developed at Yad Vashem has brought a significant change in teaching the traumatic events of the Second World War by valuing the human. The changing perspective has led to a shift from teaching the event itself, to the personal and community narrative, full of meaning and significance. Students are encouraged to learn, understand, and empathize with the victims through 'journalist questions'. Exposing them to the moral dilemmas faced by those involved at the time contributes to both reconstructing the complex world of yesteryear and cultivating the character of the students. However, this is conditioned by personal and community values, culture and ethos, factors that influence teachers and students' attitudes towards Holocaust education, as recent research reveals.
