Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to reveal some aspects of unfair commercial practices: essence; categories; the main counteracting tools. Some definitions are discussed, connected with unfair commercial practices. The two categories of unfair commercial practices are examined – misleading and aggressive. The main consumer protection tools in this problem field are reviewed. Special attention is given to the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
