Summary/Abstract: The article examines the organizational status of forensic expertise in the Republic of Bulgaria as extremely important in the process of administration of justice. The problems in the current legal framework are commented. Specific proposals and conclusions are put forward in order to achieve high quality and correctness of the expert activity in the Republic of Bulgaria and to bring it in line with the criteria used in the countries of the European Union.
