Summary/Abstract: The article aims to explore the conflicts in the field of Bulgarian demographic development. For this purpose the study analyzes the work of state institutions; expert opinion and media coverage of this problem. The specificity and wide scope of demographic problems; as well as their impact on all spheres of society; make journalism a serious challenge; both in understanding and reflecting on the problem. The purpose of the paper is to research how the topic is present in the public space and to highlight the conflicting fields at the media; institutional and expert levels. The methodology used includes analysis of scientific literature; regulations and content analysis of 130 publications for the period October - December 2018 in the printed edition of the newspaper “24 chasa”.
