Summary/Abstract: The article presents suggestions for reading lesser-known dramas of the 1920s and 1930s with a special focus on the figures of the dramatis peronae. The author proposes two figures – a marionette and a tightrope walker, the use of which allows us to see, on the one hand, the social dimension of drama, on the other – the reflections activated in it from the anthropological, existential and metaphysical order.
