Summary/Abstract: Innovation is seen as a growth catalyst for productivity, market competitiveness, quality of products and services and business efficiency. Innovation can be measured at various levels including organizational and political levels. Research and development is a vital field that has consistently attracted global interest. Research and development is closely linked to innovation since they both trend on the same path, such as, developing new products/services or finding solutions to improve/ update old ones. In this research, we analyze the extent to which innovation (in a global context) affects research and development (R&D). Partial least squares - structural equation models (PLS-SEM) are used in our analysis. We also analyze the relationship between innovation and R&D. We anticipate that innovation has a positive impact on R&D. Also, we anticipate a positive relationship between innovation and R&D.
