Summary/Abstract: The author of the article entitled Communicology - open science. Cognitive threats and opportunities, proves that communicology as a science has been accepted by scientists, but it is still in the epistemologization phase. Doubts may be raised by the lack of a uniform methodology, and lack of the necessary set of concepts. According to the author, it is difficult to develop an adequate description method for such a wide range of issues and research. The thesis that communicology is an open, interdisciplinary, and increasingly transdisciplinary science seems more correct. According to the author, contrary to the theory of science, without developing a single system of concepts and its own methodology, crossing the boundaries of disciplines and fields, it opens up much wider cognitive possibilities for its researchers, responding to the challenges of the modern world. Due to its complexity and comprehensiveness of research tasks, it reflects the speed and scope of the ongoing changes, efficiently responds to new problems and challenges.
