Summary/Abstract: The subject of the considerations will be one poem by Bolesław Leśmian, Dziewczyna (Girl) from the volume Napój cienisty (A shady/umbrageous drink.). The interpretations and descriptions of this piece so far seem insufficient to me. Their authors did not take into account quite trivial problems, namely - the issue of communication. After all, it is a statement, or rather a message that carries specific content and refers to some prior knowledge of the recipient. This knowledge is based on the classical tradition (Virgil, Ovid), but it refers to certain themes known and from the work of Leśmian himself, eg The Adventures of Sinbad the Sailor, but also appearing in the works of his contemporaries (eg W. Gomulicki, A. Asnyk). Hence the necessity to use the classical tools of the philological method. The message is structured in a fairly simple line, but it can be problematic if we analyze it briefly. Communicative tools allow for its precise description. The piece itself is an implementation of the so-called The ballad worldview already described by Stefan Lichański. At the same time, The Girl (Dziewczyna) is not a denial of the value of dreams; it only warns that not all of them are feasible. You have to choose the dream gate carefully.
