Summary/Abstract: The article presents some aspects of the period that generated and then led to the end of the Cold War as well as the reconfiguration of the global system after the disappearance of USA-USSR bipolarity. In the perspective of globalization, manifest but contradictory, opinions and actions are presented regarding the perspectives of geopolitical and geostrategic evolution at the level of the international system.
