Summary/Abstract: The vision of the multi-domain operations (MDO) concept, which promotes the principles of Unity, Interconnectivity, Creativity, and Agility, is to prepare, plan, orchestrate, and execute synchronized activities across all domains and environments at scale and speed in collaboration with other instruments of power, stakeholders, and actors. This delivers tailored options at the right time and place that build advantage in shaping, contesting, and fighting and present dilemmas that decisively influence the attitudes and behaviours of adversaries and relevant audiences. The vision raises the question of whether the idea can be used to counter hybrid threats. The study employs comparative analysis to investigate the potential applications of the MDO concept in combating new multifaceted threats, such as hybrid warfare. The preliminary findings indicate that MDO is not only a more complete concept that can be successfully applied to a larger range of difficulties but also a suitable response to hybrid threats.
