Summary/Abstract: Critical infrastructure is the backbone of our economy, security, and societal well-being. We rely on critical infrastructure when we turn on the lights at home, drink water, travel using transportation, or use any means of communication. Urbanization, globalization, and the interdependence of physical and digital infrastructures have a significant impact on our economy and society, leading to the design of smart cities. Therefore, safe, efficient, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure is essential for maintaining a high quality of life. In this article, the aim is to highlight the impact of critical infrastructure on the quality of life. The main objective of the article is to inform the public about the importance of investing in and efficiently managing critical infrastructure to ensure access to essential services, resilience in emergency situations, innovation through cutting-edge infrastructure technologies, and contribution to sustainable development.
