Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the legality of the use of unmanned aerial vehicle by public administration bodies in order to monitor air quality and control pollution resulting from the incineration of substances that are hazardous to the environment and human health. In recent years, due to the intense increase in the level of air pollution, the issue of environmental devastation in Poland is particularly important. In Polish law the so-called „anti-smog resolutions” apply at local levels – they are local law acts restricting the use of specific fuels or installations. In addition, effective control instruments should be in place to provide an appropriate air quality protection as part of public administration activities, ensuring compliance with local laws and preventing air pollution. Furthermore, the subject of analysis of the article is to bring the issues related to modern methods of equipment for drones, manner of sampling and testing the chemical compositions of polluted air and to provide examples of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
