Some Big Data Aspects in Logistics

Summary/Abstract: The importance of business logistics has grown in recent decades. This is because of the more productive opportunities for modern competition after conventional approaches have been exhausted. In this context, a huge number of technological concepts related to the emergence of big data have to be followed. The article explains the essence of data and information in logistics for material flow management in the supply chains. The main information systems for managing material flows in logistics are defined. The areas of logistics processes related to the possibility of big data appearance are also explained.
