Summary/Abstract: The article aims to present illustrative materials, accessible online, on the history and culture of Olsztyn, the capital of the Warmia-Masuria Province, as such a subject is not present in textbooks for learning Polish as a foreign language. The quantitative analysis of the internet sources allowed to select open-access, free, content-rich materials on the city’s prominent figures, monuments, museums and other places of interest. The diverse content of the materials, as well their varied forms (articles and web pages, blogs, programmes, films and photographs) can make classes for the learners of Polish as a foreign language more attractive.The presented online sources are authentic materials, which can be used to practice all language skills (depending on the teacher’s invention and students’ needs): reading, writing, listening, speaking. The article concerns Polish language glottodidactics and regionalism, but is also connected with intercultural communication and media studies.
