Summary/Abstract: Dealing with the consequences of natural disasters will always be a topic worth discussing. The purpose of the paper is to determine how the principles of business logistics are implemented in humanitarian logistics. The report analyzes the objectives and the participants of the two systems. The supply and demand gap is commented and the three phases of emergency logistics are described. The paper recommends the use of modern information systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the humanitarian sector.
