Summary/Abstract: Our modern world characterized by the dynamics of change is reflected in the edu- cational tasks of the teacher. For the most part, these arise both from educational legislation and situations, events that remain unpredictable and surprising. The article focuses on the tasks of the teacher as perceived by retired teachers. They draw attention primarily to teaching values. Their reflections and insights translate into suggestions for educational practice with regard to students as well as future teachers.
