Summary/Abstract: The paper presents a study of the discursive representation in three online information media of the institutional crisis in Bulgaria from the beginning to the middle of 2023. The study uses content analysis and discourse analysis to show that the focus is on political conflict and the personality clashes and instability of institutions fundamental to any democratic state. Responsibility is falsely personified – media characters, placed in the focus of journalistic attention, simultaneously generate political and social instability and are indispensable subjects in the Bulgarian power model laden with complex interconnections and untold truths. Political actions leading to governance instability, and socioeconomic insecurity are placed in the field of moral responsibility in two of the studied online media. In one of them, the approach to constructing reality is by uncritically retelling the messages of media characters.
